HP 5

We are home from Colorado and had the best, most relaxing trip. It was SO nice to be out of the heat. I sort of feel like I can face the rest of the summer now. I have a zillion pictures to edit and upload eventually.

One of the most fun things we did while we were in town was for my sister Nicole and I to go to the midnight showing of Harry Potter 5 the day it opened. We had a blast even though we were the oldest people in the theater. Ok, not really, but almost. We went to a huge theater complex near my parents house that has 24 theaters in it and EVERY single theater was sold out of the midnight showing. It was really fun to just be there in all the action and hype with the movie. Most of the people there were teenagers but it was fun all the same. (Incidentally, as we were pulling into the movie theater parking lot in my sister's Suburban, a couple of really young teenagers tried to hit on us. We were laughing SO hard - especially considering that we have 7 kids between the two of us.)

Anyway, here is a picture of us on opening night. Ignore how glamorous we are looking - it was the middle of the night after all.

I loved the movie. I know there are some die hards out there who don't think it followed the book close enough but in my mind I've separated the movies from the books. The movies are just adaptations of the books. I do think that if you haven't read the books, you would be a little lost in the movie. I also think this is the best movie of the series so far. I loved all the flashbacks they did during Harry's Occlumency lessons. So fun to see how they've all grown and changed. I know it's pretty geeky that we went on opening night but I'm so glad my sister was up for the adventure. It makes for some great memories.

Ok, I will probably be too busy to post much this week. The trip recap will have to wait. We move into the house on Wednesday!!! YAY!!! All the inside work is done and looks so great. My parents are coming for a quick trip on Thursday for a family reunion with my dad's side so I will be up in the mountains with them for a couple days and then they'll stay to help us unpack for a couple days. So we are crazy busy! Have a great week everyone!

We went one opening day in Richland and I completely agree with your review. I thought it was the best so far (a much better stand-alone MOVIE) and Ty, who hasn't read them, enjoyed it the most too. I even went again on Saturday with a friend here in GA.

I LOVED the movie too! me and my sis went opening day, but next movie I want to go opening night at midnight....sounds so fun! I would've gone this year if I wasn't sickly pregnant....after about 9pm if I'm not in bed I'm in big trouble, i'm sure you understand :). Can't wait to see the inside of your house all done!
