Ahem. I really can't believe what I'm about to write.
We are moving.
Again.
Seriously.
Ok, I've wanted to get that off my chest for about 5 weeks now!!
Oh yeah, you're probably wondering where.
Albuquerque, NM!!
Big Fat Edit:
I had to delete a whole bunch of stuff because Al said it was TMI for our blog. Whatever.
Anyway, the short version: Al was asked to interview for a job with his current company in Alb. about 5 weeks ago. It took them 2 weeks to come up with an offer. Then another two to negotiate the offer back and forth. It's a great opportunity for Allen and I am very happy for him.
I am absolutely heartbroken about leaving our amazing, amazing friends here. So sad. Also sad about leaving Carter's school and a million other things. It is hard to move. Hard to get reestablished and make new friends and figure out logistics.
We are for sure committed to being there for 2 years with the possibility of longer. For now we are going to rent a house until we figure out what our long term status is and where we would want to be long term! There is a great chance we could come back here eventually, so I hang on to that.
So that's it! Our big, all consuming news. I feel like I can get back to my life now that we're not in limbo land with negotiating contracts/relocation/blahblahblah. We're still figuring out a start date but it looks like I'll take the kids at the end of June and Al will commute back and forth for awhile!

MONIQUE!!! Oh my gosh, what news! I figured the holy crap was a move, I thought maybe overseas. We were just talking about this when you were here, I can't believe the company is going to buy your house, which of course is HUGE!
I am sad you have to leave an area and friends you love, but happy for the job upgrade and the chance to be closer to your family (and to me!). We've actually talked about a weekend trip to New Mexico - maybe we can see each other a bit more frequently!
Anyway, glad the news has been confirmed, and I hope it is nothing but good for you guys. Good luck getting everything situated! Ahhhhhhh!
Congratulations. I love NM. I'm excited for you guys. The house thing has to make it easier for you. I know it will be hard to leave your life in AZ but change can be good.
Wow! Yeah, moving is hard, but you can do it!! This sounds great for Allen. What a guy! And that is really great about you house. I remember reading about Phoenix being one of those insane real estate markets the last few years.
With all you have been doing and visiting these last 5 weeks, and your mom...well, I just can't imagine it!! Continued good luck Monique
Congrats! You will love being "so close" to family!
Smart idea about renting. I wish I had done that because I would totally live in a different area than I do now. I love when companies buy your house. What a heavy load off of your shoulders.
Wow! Sounds like even though it is a lot of change, it will be a really good thing for you guys. Congrats!
Oh, my gosh! That's big! The funny thing is that David and I just went thru this exact same thing, only after we went to look for places to rent in our "new area" and David gave his 2 weeks notice, we felt like it really wasn't the right thing.
At least you are with the same company and they will buy your house (that is a HUGE blessing!)!
Good Luck!!!
Wow! What an amazing opportunity for your family. I am happy for you and so happy that you will be closer to your parents! That's the best. I am excited to follow your new adventure. Best of luck!
That is big news! How exciting. I know it's hard to move, but as you know there are always a new group of friends and opportunities waiting for you. It will be fun to watch this all come together... good luck with all that moving brings. I'll be thinking about you!
You're not just moving, you are moving SOON! Wow! I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible and that you're feeling at home in NM in no time!
Grrrr, that sucks about the commute. We will seriously miss you tons and tons! Best of luck though and don't forget that you want to come back :)
Wow. What a surprise. I hope it is a great move for all of you--sounds like a great opportunity for Al, and what a blessing that they will buy your house.
Your blog title says it best: "Always an Adventure!"
The move to Connecticut was enchanting but distance too far; Seattle was a little better, but not much; Phoenix, you have to learn to love. Albuquerque, we already love and it's almost in the neighborhood. YAHOO! We're proud of Allen and all of you.
Mom
WoW! That's big news! Congrats on the new job offer! GOOD LUCK!!! When do you go?
OK. That is BIG. And EXCITING. I have to admit, I'm kind of jealous. I love moving...
Congrats on the new opportunity! How exciting. Like your blog says...always an adventure!
Blessings sometimes come in the most unexpected packaging. You probably feel like you have been on an emotional roller coaster. Congrats on the opportunity! We hope all goes well with the move and adjustment... and we will keep our fingers crossed that you will eventually make it back here to AZ!
wow, Monique! Exciting! You seem like the type to thrive wherever you are. Bloom where you are planted... Good luck finding a great rental and packing, etc., etc. :O)
