Pioneer Day Party

Last Saturday our ward had a really fun Pioneer Day party. A BBQ dinner was served and then there were a bunch of Pioneer-ish activities planned. My kids had the best time trying everything out and being with their friends.

Crossing an "icy river" (aka baby pool filled with water and ice - brilliant!):

Potato Sack races:

Making/Eating Butter:

Tug-o-Wars (YM Presidency v. EQ Presidency - the YM were victorious!):

Stick Pulls:
Hanging with Friends:

Looking Cute:

There was also candle making, another pioneer craft, 3 legged races and hoop roll races. We had a wonderful time and hope this becomes and annual tradition for our ward.

What a fun activity! I need to put that in my mental file, great ideas!

Cute, cute pictures of your kids. Addi is looking so grown up, and sooo pretty!

That is a FUN activity...and it really wouldn't be too much work either. I wonder how it would translate as a primary activity seeing as I am supposed to do one next week... Food for thought. I love it. And I love your girls. Wasn't the poppy line so cute? I somehow only got two outfits but I wanted way more.

My kids had a blast too. Your kids are so stinking cute it isn't right. But so are mine, so I guess we are just lucky! Smile.

What clever ideas for a pioneer day activity. I can imagine that it was a blast with as many kids as you have in your ward.
