One of the fun things about this trip was seeing so many states that we had never been to. The kids knocked 5 new states off their lists and Allen and I got 3 states each. Both Al and I are on the tail-end of visiting all 50 states so we had to stop at each state line to get a picture to document it.
Louisiana:
6th last state for me, 9th last for Al:
6th last state for me, 9th last for Al:
Mississippi:5th last for me, 8th last for Allen
Alabama:
7th last for Allen, 4th last for me
The states I have left: North Dakota, Alaska and Maine. Good thing they're close to each other and super convenient to get to! I have big plans to knock them off my list in the next few years.
The south was breathtakingly beautiful, green and smelled like a swamp! We loved it. I have almost 500 pictures to go through from our trip so expect lots of updates over the next week!

LOVE IT! Brian and I totally keep track of our states (I will go as far as to admit that I have a map and color in each state I visit), but I've only visited 38, with 12 to go. The main area I have yet to visit is the Southeast (from LA over to GA and up through the Carolinas), and I am DYING to visit that region. North Dakota isn't that thrilling, too bad you didn't hop on over during your mission. But Maine and Alaska are some of my faves! Definitely worth the trip in their own. Glad you had a great trip, can't wait for pics! And I have to e-mail you some interesting info from a few recent encounters - stay tuned.
I only have four left and have since I visited you in 2007 in Washington. Oh well, someday I'll get to Alaska, North Dakota, and North and South Carolina. I'm glad you are getting so close!
I can't believe you DROVE to Florida, LOL. That was brave!!! I have been to like five states total. I would like to visit my friend imanut in ND though--wanna come? I can't wait to see more pictures. I'm glad you're home!
What totally fun pictures! I have no idea how many states I have been to, but you can bet I'm about to make a mental list now ;) I'm impressed at how well your kids travel - mine complain about anything over an hour.
What a fun vacation/reunion!!! I love all the posts! NO seems like a cool place to visit. I'm totally jealous of your FL beach, all of it! We visited a beach last week... in OR, it's just not the same!
