Ok friends! Here it is - the list of books that I read in 2013! It was a good reading year for me.... maybe too good in some ways. I finished the year having read 51 books, which is about 10 more than the previous couple years. I love to read and will choose it over every other leisure past time BUT I feel like I spent a bit too much time reading this year and I let some other things slide. So I'm looking for a healthier balance for 2014. We'll see how it goes since I've just finished my 3rd book of 2014 and we're just 3 weeks into the new year!
As usual I've starred my most favorite reads and bolded the selections I read for my book clubs. If I had to recommend any book on the list it would be the Call the Midwife series, A House in the sky (a memoir with some graphic violence but fabulously written) and Global Mom (another memoir). I'd love to hear your favorites for 2013 in the comments! Happy reading!

So interesting. I read Language of Flowers last year and The Snow Child last week. Language of Flowers has to be one of my most favorite books of all time, but looks like you didn't like it that much. Must hear why some time. Thanks for the list!
Glad you've read some John Green this year. I'm not a disciple for him necessarily, but An Abundance of Katherines is totally my favorite.
Also: CODE NAME VERITY. So great.
I just finished The Light Between Oceans. Loved it! The Pillars of the Earth is another longtime favorite of mine. Do you read physical books, or have you gone to eBooks?
Yes, I loved Global Mom and Aviator's Wife too! I am definitely going to try the Midwife series at your recommendation. Since you asked for favorites as well..... have you read Infidel? Really good.
you should add a mark to the books that you didn't like! Ha! I HATED the pilgrimage of Fry book….seroiusly, it was terrible. This year you and I have very different lists! I didn't read as much (around 40 this year -- my goal was 50) -- so this year i'll add some of your favs to my list.
very impressive. Mom Frost varies between history, politics and fiction and not too much new stuff so this gave good ideas. I do mostly audio books and just finished "A Great Improvisation" - the history of Benjamin Franklin et. al in France procuring aid for the Revolutionary War. New perspective... Next after finishing "Mere Christianity", "Atlas Shrugged" is in the queue! Mom Frost
We're reading "Global Mom" in April at your suggestion. We finished "Blackmore" this month--very predictable--and not my favorite. Did you read "The Invisible Thread"?
I can't imagine reading 51 books in one year!
Mom
I just finished "The Shoemakers Wife" based on your recommendation. AND LOVED IT!!!! And I'll be starting "The Light Between Oceans" as soon as I can!! Love your list. :-)
