Last Week

Last week will NOT go down as a fun week of our lives. Not.at.all. It was abnormally busy. Allen is extremely busy with work and his company has enrolled him in a super intense training course that lasts for 4 months (one week per month). He has to travel to attend the course, and last week was the week for the month. On Wednesday he called late in the afternoon to say that he had gotten in a wreck coming home early from training. It was a 4 car pile up and it was his fault. Luckily, no one was hurt and only our car was damaged. It's our first accident ever and it is so inconvenient and expensive. We have a high deductible, which works great on saving on our monthly premiums, but stinks when you have to actually pay it (go figure).

Here's a picture of his car. The body shop had already started the work on it by the time I got over there to take a picture. I'm so grateful that he wasn't hurt and count my blessings in that way.

In other bad news, we heard back about a lawsuit we have been involved in over our CONNECTICUT house. We lost because our attorney did not do his job. Blatantly did not do his job - did not file some paperwork that the court was requiring from us. Sigh. We keep thinking that someday we'll be able to look back on that house debacle with some humor but it's been two years and it's still SO not funny to us. Maybe someday I'll laugh about it, but last week I cried. Again.

Ugh, what a horrible week indeed. Sorry Al was in an accident, but hopefully the charges to your insurance will be minimal if he got the worst of it. Still, it's a hassle, I know, and no fun to have that on the driving record.

Monique! I just wanted to give you a huge hug after reading this. Accidents are so scary and yes, SO inconvenient. Glad to hear that Al is ok. Take care!

HUGS! That is not a fun weekly recap at all. I'm so glad to hear Allen was ok though, car accidents are super scary. I'm so sorry for your legal woes. Hang in there!!!

oh no. That does sound like a rough week. I'm glad Allen didn't get hurt, but sorry you have to fork out your insurance deductible.

And your house trauma sounds like a nightmare! I can't believe that about your attorney. I'll have to tell Jason, he'll be reeling.

Monique, not fun at all! I'm so sorry about Allen's accident, and I too am so glad he's OK. And I can totally relate - remember Brian's terrible crash a year ago? Scary stuff, and dealing with insurance is always pretty much a nightmare. And bad housing situations are also pretty much a nightmare. Hugs to you, and hope that this week is a big improvement! Take care of yourself. The ups and downs of life...

Love you new Digi scrapping!

Oh man, I'm sorry about Al's accident! So glad he's okay.

And that is so not right about your attorney dropping the ball - can you appeal or anything? I would be so frustrated! May neither of us move again for a LONG, LONG time - it's way too stressful!

I'm sorry that you had such a crappy week. Even though it was such a hassle, we are sure glad you moved into that house in CT so that we could hang out with you. I'm glad Al was ok, I am super paranoid about cars with Lew working in the ER. I hope this week is 100 times better.

Gosh, I am sorry that you've had such a rough time lately! Sometimes it really seems like it all piles on us at once! Hugs to you!!

Yikes...terrible! Glad that week is done. Glad that Allen is alright. What a pain, absolute pain with cars and house. I don't know any of the details of the house, but our buyers were jerks (and I don't use that term often AT ALL.) I cried after the closing. I suppose that made it a little easier to drive away to OH. Good luck this week!

That sounds like a week of, to quote Jana Parker, "one giant poop sandwich." I'm sorry.

I'm sorry Monique. I would cry too. I can't believe that 2 years later, you are still responsible for that house. I, too, am glad to hear that Allen was okay.

oh no! I'm glad he's okay.

And really, you're still having stress about your CT house? Poor you!

Remember how teenagers roll their eyes when they wonder why their parents are so uptight at times! It's a sign of growth when one realizes that life really is unpredictable and scary and hard and unfair sometimes. You are being tested, though you don't deserve it. Fortunately, these experiences make for great family stories and fodder for RS lessons and Sacrament Meetings talks as well.

Oh! That is SO not fair! You should have won that lawsuit 2 years ago! SO glad Al is ok, and sorry for the hassle of having a car accident. It really, really stinks.
