O Christmas Tree...

So, we are back from our AMAZING Disneyland vacation. I wasn't really sure that DL could be any more magical than it normally is, but oh, IT IS!! Everyone should experience Disney at Christmastime at least once. I cannot wait to sit down and write an enormous post about it. The thought is overwhelming me right now as I have literally hundreds of pictures to go through before I can post. I took about 500 pictures and my BFF Mindy who came with us took about the same number. I hope I can get to it by the end of the week.

Taking a vacation in the middle of December definitely has it's drawbacks. I am feeling behind in just about everything. Cards are in the mail, all of my shopping is done but I still have a TON of stuff left to do (wrap/deliver teacher gifts, neighbor gifts, wrap, pack for AZ, etc.) I have also not done a single fun holiday thing with my kids this season. So unlike me. Hopefully Disneyland makes up for some of that. I'm trying my best to get everything else done this week so I have a week of fun, fun, fun with the kiddos next week!

Anyway, I thought I would post some pictures of my tree this year. I have had an all white tree for the last few years. This year I am VERY into black and white so I decided to add some black into the tree. To say I love it would be a huge understatement. I think I'll keep it this way for the next few years and can't wait to add even more to it over the next few years.

I have a few scrolly, fun picture frames tucked in the tree {don't worry everyone is represented in at least one picture!}. Originally I wanted to do silhouettes of my kids but just ran out of time. Next year!

I definitely think the ribbon "makes" the tree. I love it! I got it in the bridal department of a fabric store here.

My banister:

I could not manage to get a good close up of the banister. I'll try again tomorrow. I just used cheapy garland {thank you Christmas Tree Shops - that's a shout out to my CT friends} and white lights. You can't really tell but there is black tulle woven through, then the ribbon and white bead picks. I already had everything but the ribbon. I have a few more ideas but I didn't want to spend more money not knowing if I'd even have a banister to decorate next year.

Entryway table:

Isn't that black feather tree so fun? It is from Hobby Lobby at Halloween. I'll be buying every size next year. I love!!
Everything else is pretty much the same as previous years. My kid friendly tree, snowman collection and stocking are all upstairs. You can see a peek at those here.
I have SO much to post about so come back soon!

Can I just tell you (cause I know you'll understand) that Walmart has a BLACK tree this year? And I'm in LOVE. I want it so bad, but Jared makes such faces when I mention it that I haven't bought it yet. Talk me into it okay?

can't wait to hear about DL.
And what's this comment about not having a bannister next year? Hmmm...?

oh my gosh...I can't even stand how much I love your tree. I haven't ever seen black and white used like that and I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with it. The ribbon is perfect--you are right. I want it for my own house!

I can't wait to see DL pics--since we did Halloween there this year I want to do Christmas there next. Well...depending on how we adjust to another baby in the house, LOL

That turned out way cuter than expected! The packages under the tree are they real or just for show? I remember going to that store with you in CT. That was such a fun trip!!! Can you move back there so we can visit again???:) Love it all!

Oh, how I love the DL! As you know, I lived in HB for 2 1/2 years before moving out here and had an annual pass the entire time I lived there. I went to DL probably 50+ times during those 2 1/2 times and it NEVER lost it's charm! It changes for all the seasons and it is magical every time. I can't wait to take my kids when they get a little older! btw, I went to mail your card and realized I have your old address. Can you email or FB me your new address? Thanks!

Oh wow! What a swanky tree - I think you need out of the suburbs and into a NYC loft - SO stylish! Your ornaments and gift wrap and ribbon - sigh - the coordination is fantastic!!!

Can't wait to see Disney pictures!

So glad DL was a success! Can't wait to hear all about it. I hope to get there one of these years.

Your tree/decor looks great. That B&W ribbon is gorgy! And your pictures keep getting better, I seriously thought one was from a magazine and then I saw Miss M on the couch. :)

What a gorgeous tree. You're braver than I am, but I'm proud of your daring! I just realized that I, too, have made a trip with you to the aforementioned shop in CT. Yes, it was quite the place! It was a good thing I had arrived in CT by plane so I was limited to what I could get in my luggage on the return to DV. I especially love the framed pix and the black balls. I have never seen the balls in black in any store. Have a great time with this decor upcoming. Mom

Monique, I've lost my address book and I'm not sure if I had your new address to mail you a Christmas card this year. Did you get one from me? Ellie

I love your decorations. One day in the long future I will have a cute tree. I totally hear you on not doing anything fun for Christmas yet. I feel happy that I have a tree up.
