2010 in Review

Yep, I'm still catching up on last year. I'm hoping to be done with the blog updates this week. I've been doing this same blog review for the past 4 years. It's fun to go back and reread the recaps of previous years! I think I'm a bit redundant with some of my answers but that's just how it goes in years like this one!

What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before? Went on a cruise with Allen!

Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I made A LOT of resolutions and only kept one – to complete project 365 for the year. My blog is up to date and I have finished and ordered my book! YIPPEEE. It’s another resolution for this year and something I think I’ll do every year for the foreseeable future. --------> check it out over there

Did anyone close to you give birth? A few friends, one SIL

Did anyone close to you die? No

What countries did you visit? Haiti

What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010? It’s an obvious answer – prebaby body. Owning my own home again.

What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? All things baby related. Deciding to go for #4, getting that big fat positive (BFP) test, finding out she is a she, breaking poor Carter’s heart, being content that this is our forever family.

What was your biggest achievement of the year? Coming to terms with having a 4th baby

What was your biggest failure? I’ve been working hard on developing more patience with my kids. It’s an ebb and flow thing for me – sometimes I’m really good and sometimes I struggle. I am improving though so I guess I wouldn’t call it a failure – maybe more of a work in progress!

Did you suffer illness or injury?! Nope –knock on wood!

What was the best thing you bought? Vacations, of course!

Where did most of your money go?
Travel

What did you get really, really, really excited about? 10 year anniversary cruise

What song will always remind you of 2010? Taio Cruz – Dynamite (only because my kids listen to it non stop if I let them)

What do you wish you'd done more of? It’s hard to say – I spent a lot of 2010 in survival mode due to a difficult pregnancy. I feel like I’ve done pretty good about staying on top of the things most important to me – family and home. I do wish I had studied the scriptures more seriously though.

What do you wish you'd done less of? Whine about being pregnant

How did you spend Christmas? In Arizona with Allen’s family.

Did you fall in love in 2010?
Of course, every day!

What was your favorite TV program? LOST, Modern Family

What was the best book you read this year? Molokai, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Book Thief, Sarah’s Key

What did you want and get? A healthy baby, new dining room set

What were your favorite films of this year? Harry Potter 7, Tangled, Inception

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Unpacked from Thanksgiving, got spoiled by my family and went to dinner. I am 35.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Spending more time with my extended family

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010? Am I REALLY wearing maternity clothes again?!?

What kept you sane? Naptime, my nightly dose of Benadryl to help me sleep (see a pattern here?), the hubs, a couple close friends

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? The Chilean Miners, Elizabeth Smart

What political issue stirred you the most? Uhhh… I’m getting increasingly apathetic to politics. I guess I’d say energy policy reform.

Who did you miss? My sisters, mom, Mindy

Who was the best new person (people) you met? Some new, fun friends in my ward!

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010. Don’t ever give a two year old free reign with the glitter.

What are you most excited for in 2011? BABY! Vacationing (of course), the possibility of a more permanent situation for us

What are you least excited for in 2011?
Childbirth/recovery/weight loss – UGH.

I cried at the end. I miss you too. And I laughed at the glitter!! Don't think I heard that story.

Oh, gosh. Do you ever forget your age? I swear I've thought for quite a while that I was 33. In fact, if you'd asked me 30 seconds ago, I would have said I was 33.

Then I read this and had a mini-panic moment. If Monique is 35, that means I'm 34. Who knew!?!

Thanks for setting me straight.

Haiti? Did I miss something? Yes, yes, yes and yes to all the baby things for me last year, so glad we decided Mason needed to join us. Can't wait for Baby E's arrival! LOL at BFP test. Suggested Molokai for book club this year, reading and hosting it this summer based on your recommendation. Pre-baby body... I think I've heard about something like this once, but can you remind me what that is...??? ;) Hugs to you on the rest of your pregnancy, she is going to be here so soon!
