My Valentines

Our Valentines day was VERY low key this year. We had a fun breakfast - heart shaped pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream. Each person opened a small gift and we sent the big kids out the door to school. Their school has a no treats and no class parties policy (which I think is obnoxious for an elementary school, but whatever) but they did allow the kids to bring in cards for their friends and had a few activities. We made Valentine cookies and by the time we were done with the cookies no one felt like having our traditional fondue. We decided to wait until later in the week when Grandma and Grandpa are here to enjoy it with us. Al and I kept it simple this year and hope to sneak out on a date sometime while my parents are here with us.I would like to point out in the top picture that I bought the newborn Valentine outfit for Miss Emery. When I went to put it on her it was WAY, WAY too small. You will notice how the bottom is not buttoned because it did not fit. It cracked us up. In fact, I returned several newborn outfits and a huge box of NB diapers this morning because everything is way too small on her! I'm so grateful for my sweetheart and for our 4 precious Valentines!

Cute kid pic! And I agree with you on the obnoxious no-treat policy. Come on, let the kids have some fun! And V-day cards without candy aren't nearly as fun!

We just unwrapped a package of newborn diapers last night and I was like, "Crap, I wonder how long these will fit him..."

Cute pictures! I'm impressed with your energy and motivation, so soon after a new baby. (though if you're like me, I feel like I have more energy with a newborn than I had the 9 months previous...)

You are always so festive, and make things fun and memorable for your cute little family. Emery looks like she belongs right there in the middle of that photo. :)

Oh my gosh! Your baby is so darling. I have a gift for you, had it since that dang snow-day-without-snow week. Didn't think you would want me to bring all 5 kids to your shower. Better get a move on so she doesn't grow out of them too fast!
