Four is Fab!

Miss Addison turned four years old yesterday! She has been excited about her birthday for weeks and she has been telling everyone she is four since last month. She picked Texas Roadhouse for lunch on Saturday which made everyone in the family happy. Ironically, she got Mac n Cheese while the rest of us had steak. She loves their rolls and butter and the peanuts so she was happy. She loved that she got to sit on the saddle for her birthday and her own chocolate sundae!Sunday was her actual birthday. Before opening presents:

With her gifts. She got a fancy Ariel costume and light up shoes (thank you Disney store post Christmas sale!), new movies and a new play kitchen from us. She got some new pots and pans and play dishes from my parents along with a new watch and some pink M&Ms. Allen's mom gave her some new books!
Krispy Kreme heart donuts for breakfast:
Last night we had dinner with some friends with birthday cake.

Today we invited all her preschool friends over after school for a little party. We had pizza and cupcakes/ice cream and let the kids have a giant playmate.
She wanted everything to be Tangled themed
These are the Tangled tower cupcakes that I made (slaved over) for the party. They were a big hit, especially with Addison so it was worth it!
She had a wonderful birthday weekend and was spoiled rotten by family and friends!

We're so thankful to have Addie in our family. She is a great mixture of sweet and spunky. She is still a huge cuddle kid. She loves to snuggle and kiss and love on us. She is definitely opinionated and can be pretty sassy too. She is the best big sister to Emery and can make her laugh like no one else in our family. In fact, Emery prefers Addison to almost anyone else in the family. I love watching their relationship develop.

Addie is opinionated about clothes and especially about how her hair is done. She only likes two styles - half up side ponytail or a back ponytail (which she calls an "on back"). She loves dresses/skirts but truly prefers to be in her pajamas all day long. She loves nightgowns and especially loves her Ariel and Tinkerbell ones. I have to pry them off her body to wash them a couple times a week. She is still in love with all thing Disney princess related and still loves Ariel and Rapunzel most.

Addison loves preschool, her little friends and her teacher Miss Debra. She is learning a lot and loves to practice her name, play with puzzles and color. She is pretty artistic and will color and craft all day long. She also loves to play outside and ride her scooter and play with the older kids. She loves her dance class and is so excited to go every week. She is excited for the spring recital and for her new costume.

Addie has always been our pickiest eater but has come a long way in the last year. We think she has more of a discerning palate rather than being picky. She is always surprising us with the things she tries and loves. She loves super fancy (expensive) cheese and crackers and is a huge salad lover. She can be hit and miss with food but she is pretty brave about trying new things even if she doesn't end up like it.

Addison is super fun to be around and is a spark of joy and fun in our family. She likes to be little and big at the same time. She loves cuddles and snuggles but can hold her own with the older kids with wrestling and playing. She can be really defiant and throw tantrums like a champ when she is frustrated but she seems to be outgrowing that as she gets older. We love her to pieces and can't wait to see who she grows up to be!

Addie is so dear to us. We love her hugs and kisses whenever we can get them. Grandparenting is a sweet, tender experience and we wouldn't trade it for anything!
