Disneyland - Day 1

We spent a fabulous 4 days at Disneyland during our trip to the US. We convinced my parents to come with us and had a great time having them there. They had not been to Disneyland since they took us as kids in the mid 80s. I think they had a lot of fun watching my kids have a blast!

We flew to CA on Sunday. My dad is so good with my kids and was giving them horse rides at the airport.

My darling cousin and her family live about 10 minutes from Disneyland. She came and picked me up at the hotel and we went and got In n Out for everyone (woohoo) and brought her family back to the hotel for all of us. It was fun to see her brand new baby and get to visit for a couple of hours. It was a great start to our trip.

My cousin and her family with my family!

Monday morning we got up really early and got to the park when it opened. We try really hard to plan our Disney trips for the slow weeks and we did not get it right on our first day. It was  the last day that the Christmas decorations were up and they had the Christmas parade and fireworks so the park was really busy the first day. We had not been planning to see any of the Christmas stuff so that was a fun surprise. I've said it before but Disneyland is crazy magical at the holidays. I'm so glad we got to experience it again!

Emery is a Minnie Mouse fanatic so we decided to book breakfast with Minnie on our first morning. I've got to say that 3 is THE BEST age to take a kid to Disney. It was so much fun to watch her take it all in. She was blown away by having breakfast with Minnie but she did not like any of the other characters.

After breakfast and ready to go party at the park!

Ems also loves Dumbo so she was thrilled for the Dumbo ride. We rode it a lot on this trip.

Small World selfie:

Small world is my absolute favorite at Disneyland at Christmas. It's super magical. All the characters are dressed in traditional holiday garb and the musical is "Small World" and "Jingle Bells" combined. I took lots of pictures but they are mostly blurry because of the moving boats but I did get this picture right before the Small World exit. It is just a feel good ride and I love it!

I love this pic of my mom and dad. We had lots of time standing in line to visit and take pics. It was great to have them there even though it made our group big!

Jungle cruise (photo bombed by our "guide")

Watching the Christmas parade with Emery was a blast. She was so thrilled to see all her favorite characters.

Ems fell asleep while waiting for the fireworks, which were incredibly spectacular. I recorded part of the show and she has probably watched it a hundred times since then. It's a bummer she missed it but she was wiped.

It was a fabulous first day at my favorite place with my favorite people!

Oh yes, I love, love Disney! Truly one of the "happiest places on Earth" .... especially being there while seeing it through the eyes of your kids. How fun that you were able to do that while you were in the US!

You will be sad to know that I hear they will be tearing down It's A Small World in the coming years as they no longer feel it's relevant. Cute photos!!
