A couple days after Christmas Allen and Carter boarded a plane to San Francisco and met Jon and Mason to go to the BYU bowl game. Allen has gone to at least one BYU football game every year for the past 10 years and was feeling really sad about not getting to attend one this year. When I found out the bowl game was when we would be in the US, I encouraged him to get tickets and go with Carter. They were only gone for about 36 hours but squeezed in a lot of fun. The morning they flew to SF they spend the day exploring the city.

That night they went to the game and watched BYU lose to UW. They still had a great time at the game and enjoyed getting into the cougar spirit!

Carter fell dead asleep on the BART train on the way back to the hotel. They walked over 10 miles that day and had fit in a lot of sightseeing.
After breakfast the next morning they flew back to Portland. I'm so glad my boys got to have fun at the game together. It's really important to us that our kids have "normal" US experiences while growing up overseas. Go Cougars!
