Update

I'm affectionately calling this week the chicken-with-no-head week at the Frost house. We are swamped with a million different things this week {play group, Enrichment, 2 YM activities, Activity Days, a couple service opportunities, dinner group exchange, field day for Carter & all day volunteer opportunity for me, 2 baptisms, meeting with the interior designer to get going on my drapes, shopping for drape fabric... plus all our other normal weekly commitments} Long story short, I'll be MIA for most of this week.

But I wanted to tell a little about my mom. Many of you have inquired about the pink ribbon over there ---------------------------> A few weeks ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. It has been a very emotional time for all of us and while we still do not know a lot about her surgery and treatment, things are looking quite hopeful. In an MRI she had last week, it appeared that the cancer had already spread to her other breast but today she found out that it has not. This is very very good news.

She should know more about her prognosis and treatments as the week progresses. We are all a little surprised at how long it has taken to find out the details of her situation. We have cried and prayed so much these last few weeks. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated too. We know many are praying and pulling for her! I'll post updates as I know more!

Oh goodness, Monique! I had no idea. That's good news that it hasn't spread, and I hope treatment continues to go well. It's hard--but so much more treatable than it used to be!

Your mom and dad are both in our prayers. I cannot imagine what this is like for your family. I absolutely adore my Aunt Jeanie and Uncle Ray. They've always been my favorites and I'm hoping and praying for the best. :)

I had been wondering about the pink ribbon, thanks for the update and the request, friends help right? Personally, I can remember a certain time in my extended family when we were struggling with a difficult situation and it was friends that could help us get through some tough spots. I pray that the "unknown" will very quickly become "known" and the plan to beat this!!!

I been wondering about that, but didn't know quite how to bring it up. That news makes me so sad, but I can tell that your mom is a strong woman and is going to beat this!!! My prayers are with your family.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2000 - and hers was in both breasts. She underwent months of radiation and had a partial mastectomy on both breasts. She had a good prognosis, but then it returned in full force a year or two ago. Thankfully, she was being closely watched and they caught it early. She underwent a bilateral radical mastectomy and she is now cancer-free and doing well. Breast cancer has such a great prognosis when caught in the early stages. Have a wonderful week spending time with your mom and I wish her all my best!
