Read in 2012

I'm back with my list of the books I read in 2012. It was another great reading year for me and there were so many books I didn't even get to. As in past years I've starred my favorite books and bolded the selections from  my book club. Unfortunately I have not tracked down a book club here in Seattle and just might have to start my own. I miss my ABQ book club immensely!

The Invisible Bridge*
Secret Daughter*

Little Women*
Heaven is for real
Miss Peregrines home for Peculiar children
The night circus*
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle*
Caleb's Crossing
Heaven is Here (Stephanie Nielson Memoir)
Dreams of Joy
The Kitchen House*
To The Rescue (President Monson Biography)*
11/22/63*
The Paris Wife*
The Language of Flowers *
The Madonnas of Leningrad
Garden Spells
The Dovekeepers
Defending Jacob
A Walk Across the Sun
Gone Girl
Fall of Giants*
The Lost Wife*
The ExPats
The Brothers (Great and Terrible 1)
Where Angels Fall (G&T 2)
The Second Sun (G&T 3)
Fury and Light (G&T 4)
From the End of Heaven (G&T 5)
Clear as the Moon (G&T 6)
(A note about this series - I personally did not think the writing was very good and some of the content was a little too overt for me but the ideas were so interesting and terrifying that I had to finish. I read all 6 books in less than 2 weeks so it did keep my interest.)
Divergent
What Alice Forgot*
Edenbrooke*
City of Thieves
Faith Endures*
The White Queen
Age of Miracles*
The Red Queen
Fever 1793

Let me know if you have any questions or leave a comment with one of your favorites this year. I'm always looking for recommendations. And I do get asked this EVERY year but no, I will not be updating my list on Goodreads ;)

Ahhhhh, good. I always pull a few new reads from your yearly list because I know they'll be good. I've gotten three recommendations for 11/22/63 and can't start it just knowing that it's like 900 pages. Which is ridiculous since I read the Mistborn trilogy and The Name of the Wind in 2012 and those are all doozies. But anyways. Duly noted. I may now finally get it and start it up.

I'd definitely be interested if you got a book club going up here. :)

The Emerald Atlas was one of my favorites this year. I just didn't have the time to read. Hopefully, I will this year.

ah my dear, you and your stubborness for goodreads....

okay, so how much did you love Animal Veg, Miracle? I loved it! need someone to discuss with (although it's been a while since I read it). And was it you that recommended the Kitchen House to me? That was a good one too! I noticed you didn't star NieNie's book -- is it not worth the read? thanks for the list, I'll be sure to update MY goodreads so I have something to look forward to after my 'reading hiatus'.

I dont' read as prolifically as you do,but I did read "Edenbrooke." I loved it! Our book club discussed it last night, but I didn't go because we were having a huge snow storm. I had hoped tht they'd cancel the evening. But, not so!
