One Month!

Addie is one month old! Part of me can't remember life without her and part of me cannot believe it's already been an entire month. A few things about her at one month:

- She is waking up more and more. She is my fussiest baby and so far hates the swing, bouncy seat and the binky. She pretty much has to be held during all waking hours or she is very unhappy. It isn't our lack of trying though. Here's my nightstand with our lovely binky collection:

- Has a very awake time from about 2:00-4:00 a.m. This is a challenge as we are both totally exhausted at this point of the night. We have resorted to a lot of middle of the night TV watching and baby holding until she falls asleep. Unfortunately, I am completely caught up on my Tivo'd episodes of Oprah (something I thought I would NEVER say).

- Is a great little nurser and nurses for about 10 minutes per side. She holds my finger or holds the hem of my shirt while she nurses, so cute!!

- Has recently broken out in bad baby acne. I still think she is beautiful!!

- Sleeps most soundly when she is on her tummy.
- She still loves to be swaddled tightly
- Has started giving us the cutest little smiles, especially while she is nursing.
- Loves to have her hair washed and her head rubbed.
We love our little Addie and have loved getting to know her this month.

Oh, I'm so sorry! 2-4? That is NOT fun. Hoping you get some sleep soon.

She is soo pretty! Lavendar is so pretty with her dark hair and olive skin.

All my babies were fussy, and up at all hours of the night. My theory, and it would totally apply here, is that they can't be that cute and be good babies. That would be entirely unfair to the mother's of average looking babies. ;) Hang in there!

2-4 a.m. is rough! Hope she figures out her days and nights soon. Darling girl! I think her expression in the 2nd picture is her realizing that she still isn't mentioned in the "About Me" section of your blog! :-)

I don't care if she is up all night...she is still the yummiest thing I have ever seen. I love Kristi's comment...she's right. It's totally not fair to be that cute without having at least one minor drawback. And the upside is at least she will outgrow the fussiness ;0). She's a doll...and I really do hope you get some sleep sometime soon.

What a doll! I love the second picture too. I wish I had had TiVo with Lillian, we were always up with her watching late night infomershals. Good luck!

I feel for you! Not fun (the middle of the night business). I'm so glad you have Tivo at least! She really is super cute!

She truly is a little doll. When you were here in July I was just getting over Lucas getting up at night like that (so if I seemed spacey...). It is so challenging, but hopefully she'll get it figured out soon!

it will soon pass...and before you know it you'll be on to bad dreams, accidents, and her creeping out of her bed. it never ends. She's absolutely scrumptous though and I want to love on her like crazy. Yummy new born!

A month? I feel like I haven't talked to you at all in the last month! I think it's time for a chat!

It's SO hard when babies are fussy, but it will get better soon! Thanks for the poison ivy tip, I think they have me on the strongest thing I can have at this point, but it's driving me INSANE!!!! I hope the sleeping gets better soon, what a sweet baby she is. I loved the picture of Carter singing to her, and of course his video. So funny.

Wow - a baby who loves having her hair washed! She is a cutie - sorry about the 2:00-4:00 wake ups. Ugh. Eva did that.

Wow, I can't believe she's been here for a month. She is truly beautiful! She is stunning in that little outfit!

This is totally unsolicited advice, so feel free to ignore it, but do you have a Moby Wrap? Meghan wrote about hers on her blog and I have one too. It is really nice to be able to hold the baby but still have both hands free and know that the baby is secure. Especially if Addie likes being swaddled, it holds her it really close and tight. Just a thought. I still use mine a lot when I'm making dinner.

poor you on the sleep issues! Ack and I would die about the no binky thing...

That second picture is just adorable. She looks so tiny and cute!
