St. Patty's Festivities

Ok, I'm totally NOT into St. Patrick's day but Carter was really interested in it this year after doing a unit on it in school last week. He came home on Friday and decided we needed to make a Leprechaun trap:

He did the entire thing himself - that is a bed/pillow, a table with a snack, green carpet, a pot of gold and a tiny green flag on top. Pretty clever, I think.

So, of course, Lucky the Leprechaun HAD to come visit during the night. First, he made a trail of shamrocks for the kids' bedrooms all the way down to the kitchen.

Then he left a little note and some treats for the kids.

We had shamrock pancakes and green milk for breakfast.

We had friends over to play and for lunch today. We had an entirely green meal (that's green mac & cheese, jello, green peas and a shamrock rice krispie treat you see here).

Makenna refused to pose for the green picture and obviously Addie was super thrilled to be there:

The kids spent the afternoon coloring St. Patty's sheets and making crafts. They had a great day. Hope you had a Happy St. Patrick's Day too!!

Oh my gosh...so cute and SO clever. The note was a perfect touch...I wish I would have thought of that. The trap was awesome. Tell Carter I am super impressed! :0)

PS--looks like Addison is starting to fill out! How cute!!

When I die and go to heaven, maybe then I'll be as good of a Mom as you.

Um, seriously? You win the clover crown. I think I remember doing stuff like this when all of my kids were tiny. Yes, I'm sure that's right. ;) What a fun day, and Connor's Leprechaun trap is amazing - must be genetic.

Wow - what a great St. Patty's Day you guys had! I had some fun green food and activities planned, but with Brian out of town and the rest of us getting over influenza, I was *lucky* to get everyone dressed in green. I may have to steal these ideas for next year.

And thanks for the offer for Brian. He's in Tucson for the week, though. I think he has one quick day trip up to Phoenix, but just for a game then he's heading back down to Tucson. Thanks though! We appreciate the offer! Maybe one day I'll join him on one of these trips and we can hang out!

I thought when you had another kid this would slow you down on your craftiness, but no! Cute ideas!!! You put my St. Patty's day to shame.

You make me feel so guilty that my kids both wore pink yesterday, and when Avery asked me if it was a real holiday I told her no. I'm just not into St. Patty's day, but I should have made it more fun for my kids I guess... :(

You guys look so cute and I love all your ideas.

Those are great ideas! I may have to steal some for next year. I was going to make green shamrock pancakes but then I realized that we didn't have a shamrock cookie cutter, I guess I'll have to run out and buy one for next year. And Addie is looking so adorable! I really like her red outfit.
