This weekend I organized our activities for our Advent Calendar. I tried to simplify a bit this year since by the end of the season last year, I was overwhelmed and burned out. I tried to include things that we would already be doing so it would be less work. We'll see how it goes this year. I'll jut be blogging about our activities once a week to alleviate more stress.
Here's our list in case you're needing ideas for yours:
December 1: Trim the Tree
December 2: Make Grandma B's eggnog and drink it
December 3: Drive around and look at Christmas lights
December 4: Write a letter to Santa
December 5: Buy a gift for someone in need
December 6: Attend the Ward Christmas party/Open new Pjs (our party is a pj party this year)
December 7: Watch the First Presidency Christmas Devotional with a treat
December 8: Have a Christmas FHE
December 9: Decorate a Gingerbread House
December 10: Make a card for your teacher
December 11: Visit Santa and have picture taken
December 12: Make homemade wrapping paper
December 13: Watch a Christmas movie with a treat
December 14: Go to the temple to see the lights
December 15: Help deliver neighbor gifts
December 16: Open and read a new Christmas book
December 17: Do a Christmas craft
December 18: Buy a present for your siblings with Mom and Dad
December 19: Make cards for grandparents
December 20: Take a Christmas road trip
December 21: Make Christmas cookies
December 22: Make a Christmas Craft
December 23: Go sledding (if there is snow) and drink hot chocolate afterwards
December 24: Act out the nativity
I'm making good progress this week. I've figured out neighbor and employee gifts (for Al's direct reports). We are completely decorated (woohoo!) and I have started on the teacher gifts. If only it weren't nearly 80 degrees here, I would feel fully festive!

You do the funnest things at your house! This is just plain cute. We need to see your decorations - pretty please!!
Great ideas! Love the new blog look too (sorry if that's old news, I only check reader!)!!!!
What fun ideas! Love your new blog decor too.
Ooh, I like these ideas. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad to know that it doesn't have to be a big deal everyday...just something nice. And I REALLY like your calendar (did I tell you that last year?):)
What a great list. How fun that your ward party is a pajama party!
You totally inspired me to give the activity advent a try this year. Thank you!
You are so creative! :)
Great list of course. And I like your new blog decor.
Fabulous ideas! I heart your calendar. What are you doing for teacher gifts?
Fun ideas! I'm working on my own activity advent calendar for this year. At least is won't be 80 in Denver for Christmas!
thanks for posting your ideas, we needed some new ones. do you actually write on the tags or just keep a list? if you do write on them, do you replace them with new ones? do you keep to your schedule?
Congratulations on the wonderful memory-making before Christmas daily activities. I wonder if your children know how great their mom is! I'm exhausted just READING the blog. The advent calendar project is almost as crazy as some of mine. However, my current granddaughter project would be almost perfect if I could just get Kenna's and Addie's measurements. Everyone else's is already completed!!
Mom
