Carter's Birthday!

Thursday was Carter's 6th birthday and he had a great day! We started by having cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then we let him open one present before school. He was thrilled to get another Indiana Jones Lego set.
I took cupcakes to his class during snack time and he loved passing out his treat to his friends.

After school he was so happy to put together his new Lego set. He has gotten so proficient at putting them together that he had it completely done in about an hour.

When Allen got home, he opened the rest of his gifts. More Indiana Jones Legos, a new board game, some books and an Indiana Jones costume, hat, whip and bag. Can you tell what his new obsession is?

We went to dinner at Rubio's (Carter's choice)

Had Indiana Jones birthday cake with some friends:

Yesterday we went miniature golfing for his birthday activity (I've gone to the friends party every other year plan). It started out really fun:

And ended with this:

Yep, Makenna walked right in front of Carter as he swung his golf club. It sliced open her eye and was gushing blood. We rushed to the ER where she received 6 stitches! We were only on the 5th hole when it happened so we'll have to do something else to make up for it. Kenna was a total trooper and hardly cried at all getting her stitches. Carter felt HORRIBLE even though it wasn't his fault. Life with kids... so unpredictable. Makenna absolutely loved all the attention she got at church today and proudly showed off her injury!
I'll be back with Carter's birthday interview results!

Wow! I'm so impressed with your cake.

I'm so sorry about Makenna. Ryan had stiches on his eyebrow last Spring. His scar looks cute now. It makes him unique.

Awesome birthday! Score on all the IJ gifts!

Love that you are doing a friend party every other year. That is my plan, too. :)

Poor Kenna!!! What a tough girl. Hope it heals fast.

Oh, my, unpredictable is the right word! Carter reminds me an awful lot of Jackson. Jackson's entire Christmas was LEGO sets, and then he had it all built in a week.

Wow, poor Makenna! Tell her I'm impressed that she's so tough!

Happy Birthday to your big boy! 6 seems impossible, we're right on your heels. Crazy. What a smart and handsome boy you've got there.

Awesome Indiana Jones party stuff. SO SORRY about poor Makenna's eye! Oh my goodness, what a way to end the day. Unpredictable, like you said. Hope she heals quickly.

awww, I'm loving your little birthday dude! Happy Birthday, cute Carter!

Os sorry to hear about M's injury.... I'm impressed with how brave she was for the stitches. Now she has her mandatory "I had stitches when..." story. Everybody needs one!

Carter gets cuter every day and he's so boy! Sorry about the eye injury and glad the cut was on the lid and not right on the eyeball. Raising children is hair raising, no? Yes!
