Keeping me Busy

As I was cleaning up after the holidays, I realized just how many little projects I needed to do around here. I'm not talking about a big remodel, just lots of little things. And I also realized my house needs a serious DEEP CLEANING. So I sat down and made a list of all the things that need to be cleaned, finished or spruced up. Originally, I thought I could tackle the entire list in a month but after working on it feverishly for a couple weeks, I realize I have at least 2 months worth of work (and that's working a couple hours a day on my list - which I won't be able to maintain). My goal is to touch EVERY surface of the house and go through every item we own! It's a tall order but already things seem so much cleaner and better organized!

So here it is, my Deep Clean 2009 master list. I'm posting it here because hopefully it will keep me motivated. I love checking things off my To Do list and will be updating this list until it is all done!

So... if you're stuck inside and have the winter blahs, try making your own list. It feels so good to check things off! {And if you're stuck inside, I sincerely apologize since it's lovely and in the mid 70s here this week. I'm not trying to rub it in... just remember come June, we'll be stuck inside ourselves!}

Are you sure you're not nesting??? :)

I have some SERIOUS blahs...but I think they're totally weight and postpartum anxiety related and not winter. I get it though. I love my 'lists' and crossing them off! It's so satisfying! Good luck on the list.

Monique - I am in the same mode right now - just really gearing up to start the year off well organized! Thankfully, my house is clean from the holidays - I did a lot before our house guests came to town! I want to see pictures of some of the completed projects - what color did you paint the kids bathroom?

you are a motivated woman! i have been doing some of the same, but on a lesser scale. most of mine is outside since i love to be out there so much. it's just raking raking raking, but I love it.and a cleaned out closet is SOOO nice. I think after christmas it's so great to purge old toys and junk to make room for all that new junk!

goodness! Look how many things you have already checked off. I need to do this too.

Now we need some photos of your progress.

I'm exhausted just reading your list. Yikes! I'm too scared to make my own list. It would be huge. :( But seeing as a live-in maid is not in my future, I'd better get started.

Thanks for sharing!

I'm feeling that I need to do the same thing but I think that I will just hire someone to come in and do it for me because I am feeling very unmotivated these days. Just kidding, but the thought has crossed my mind.

You are so motivating. I love the detailed list idea. I am going to have to start one of my own.
