Sometimes I try to explain the Seattle housing market to people who have never lived here. I don't think people believe me when I try to tell them how insanely overpriced things are here. So here's an excellent illustration:
My friend who lives 1 street over from us just sold her house this week. It was on the market for less than a week. It is 900 square feet and the final selling price was $410,000. Yes, you are reading that right. The house has never had a square inch remodeled since it was built in the mid 1950s.
