Last night Carter's new little friend Sophie spent the night at our house. She is the daughter of Al's high school friend and she and C have become fast bosom buddies. They have been begging to have a slumber party all week. Conveniently there are two twin beds in Carter's room so it was perfect. I'm kind of anti slumber party. You just can't be too careful in today's world with young kids. And with teenagers, no way, no how. But I consented anyway and they had a ball together. They stayed up later than usual and then woke up at the crack of dawn. 5:30 a.m. YIKES!! That is way earlier than my kids normally wake up. Alas, everyone is down for a nice early nap today!!
After the kids were down, I ran by a couple furniture stores. My quest for finding the perfect furniture is sure taking a long time. How hard can it be to find a nice, simple, dark brown leather sectional or sofa set? Hard. Well, we did find one that we love - to the tune of $5K. A *little* more than we are wanting to spend. Then I stopped by a new scrapbook store that I found near the house. Heaven. Seriously. Having lived on the east coast for 4 years (aka scrapbook wasteland) and then having things only slightly improved in Seattle, I feel like I have died and gone to scrapbook heaven here. I already have a little 4th of July project up my sleeve and it is turning out SO cute (I always say that, don't I?). I hope to wrap it up this weekend and share! Finally, I grabbed a couple frozen lemonades and came home where Al and I watched Breach. It was fantastic. I highly recommend it.
We are off to a swim party this afternoon! Have a great weekend everyone!
