Sizzle

Finally checking in from sunny AZ. Wow. Time is flying. Here are the highlights from the last week. I am feeling too lazy to upload pictures. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe.

1. We live at the pool. Seriously. I looooove it. The kids love it. The days seriously fly by. We bought life jackets for the kids and they are little fish. We are shocked and thrilled with how comfortable they are in the water. And we are all developing nice tans (well except Al- hehe).

2. Still busy getting stuff situated. Home owners insurance, check. Car insurance switched, check. Heath insurance, check. My to do list is still a million miles long. But one of my top priorities was to find the library and get myself some books. I seriously feel lost if I have nothing to read. Happily I found the library last week and have some good reading material again.

3. Phoenix is ginorormous. It just goes on forever and ever. We drove to Tempe to look at some furniture on Saturday and it took us almost an hour each way. Urban sprawl at it's best.

4. Al loves his job. Really loves it. He is working a lot but thankfully goes in very early before we're out of bed and gets his extra hours in that way. He's still coming home at his normal time but is putting in about 60 hours/week. I'm grateful that he is willing to work early so our family time is not sacrificed.

5. Old friends become new friends. At church on Sunday Al ran into one of his dearest friends from growing up. His family and her family were super close friends all growing up. She and I have become fast friends and have already done several things together. My kids love her kids. It rocks.

6. 10 days into life in Phoenix and I have to say that I really, really like living here. The heat doesn't bother me nearly as much as I thought it woul. Though I do know it is going to get worse. I like it though. People are friendly. We're already feeling pretty comfortable in our ward and making friends.
