I've been meaning to blog about my new friend Karolyn for awhile now (no, she does not read my blog -- at least that I know of). Anyway, I met Karolyn my first day in our new ward. She sat with me in Sunday school and asked me a million questions about myself. She asked for my phone number and promised to call to get together. Well, she called the very next day and invited us over to swim. And she has consistently called and invited us to do things at least once a week. SO NICE. Anyway, she is just one of those people who is so great and obviously loves to serve other people. So, the day that we moved into our house she offered to take the kids for the entire day. She met me at their swim lessons and brought them back to my house 8 hours later. Not only did she watch my kids all day, she also brought us a DELICIOUS meal for our first night in our new home. How awesome is that?! She is a great example to me of the kind of person I strive to be (believe me, I have a long way to go.) So today I finally made a thank you card and gift to take to her tonight for everything she's done for me. From being a new friend to serving me when I needed it most.

(The card idea is a lift from the fabulously talented Stacy Kingman. I got these Elsie products in a kit club I belong to and they're not really my style but I think the card turned out cute anyway.)

Cute card! And what a well deserving recipient - Karolyn sounds amazing! And yes, I love People magazine - my brother has gotten me a subscription for my b-day for the last two years. Jonathan is SO embarassed, and asks me to put them away when we have guests - I don't know WHAT he thinks is in there??? Well, the Beckhams were pretty indecent - lol - but other then that! It was nice of that random mom to pass hers along - we moms have to look out for each other!
Wow - what a great example of service. And I too love a People fix. It's not ALL gossip. Sometimes there are some educational articles ;)
I love that card! So cute. What a nice friend.
I should really be nicer...I can't believe your friend took your kids and made you dinner! I can't even always do that for myself, LOL.
CuTE card too! Love the distressing :0)
I'm a little embarrassed to say this, so I'm not sure why I'm putting it on your blog, but we actually subscribe to People magazine and I anxiously await the mail every Friday :) I'm sure I've killed a few brain cells reading about Paris's latest antics, but I always do the crosswords at the end, so hopefully it all balances out!
I'm so glad you are having such a good experience in AZ! Nice people are the best!
The pictures of Makenna and Carter are AWESOME! You'll have to put them on their wedding videos for sure!
See ya!
