Question: What Happened to Every Day?

Answer: Life

Sheesh. I had such good intentions for posting every day this week. Here's a summation of my week and you'll see why it just didn't happen:
  • 1 flooded backyard - the landscapers who installed our sprinkling system set our timers to run 3 times a day for 40 minutes each time. When they came out to adjust the sprinklers they said we really only need 1 time a day for 5 minutes. Nice. Can't wait to see that water bill. Our grass is completely waterlogged and nasty.
  • 2 sick little kids - fevers, boogers, coughing, general grumpiness
  • 3 unexpected house guests - my 4 year old niece Eva had a massive allergy/asthma attack while spending some extra time up in Show Low. It was so bad that the doctor ordered her to be medivaced (helicoptered) from Show Low down to Phoenix Children's Hospital. Gratefully, she is just fine now but was could not fly home on Wednesday morning. So my Sister-in-law Tracie, Eva and 2 year old Arin stayed with us from Wed-Saturday morning. It was crazy but the kids had fun having extra time together.
  • 7 workmen in my backyard - our patio addition is finally finished. Seriously, it has been a huge hassle but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. The noise drove me crazy. But the painters showed up yesterday and the project is finally complete! YAY!
  • 10 phone calls between me and Carter's preschool teacher (maybe even more) - school starts on Monday. She called me on Thursday to inform me that he is not allowed to start school without a Hepatitis A shot. So I call my pediatrician and since we are new patients she will not see us just for the shot. I have to schedule a well child check before they'll see us for anything else (stupidest policy ever). The first well child appt. is well into September. So now I have to take Carter to the Maricopa county public health clinic to get the shot or he can't start school on Monday. Nice that they gave me 2 days notice.

I won't even continue but the list seriously goes on and on. My sister in law saved me this week. She watched the kids so I could run errands (alone!!!), sewed a project for my Achievement Day girls, babysat so we could go on a date last night, etc. Thanks Tess!!

So maybe, just maybe, I can get caught up this next week. We'll see!

Wow, I hope this week slows down for you and everyone gets to feeling better - especially in time for C's big first day of school! Hugs!

Sounds like life is just about as good in AZ as it is here! I can't believe that school is starting there already, the girls still have a month to go.

PS. How did you ever survive you kitchen remodel? It is soooo stressful and dirty!
