Our main floor is finally starting to come together. It takes me SO long to decide what I want/like so the process is pretty time consuming. Here's a little sneak peek at the family room. The kitchen is painted the same color but we have some light fixtures to swap out before I post pictures of it. I am kind of having a love/hate relationship with the color on the walls. Depending on the lighting and the time of day, depends how I feel about the color choice. For now we are leaving it. Other things that we want to do include installing crown moulding. I have also decided to forego window treatments and will be replacing my wood blinds with white wood shutters eventually. And sooner than later I want to get rid of the hideous vertical blind that covers the door to the backyard. More pillows will be added to the couch and I will be getting a coffee table or ottoman when I find one that strikes my fancy. So, for now, here it is:
The buffet will be centered under the Family thing once we fix the door so it doesn't open so far:

Close Ups:

A 4th picture will of course be added to the right side once we have the baby:

PS- Some of this is my Vtines decor (I'm not into hearts and love otherwise).

I love that carpet! It goes great with that room.
Everything looks great. I love your buffet, but can't quite picture it's placement. Probably nearer the kitchen right? All your lettering looks fabulous, and I love your clock. you need to post a close up of it. Your rug does make the room. I think it's perfect and I can totally picture an ottoman or table on it! And, I think the color is warm and pretty. good choice!
Very nice! I'm loving all the "framed" letters. The rugs are awsome (where did you end up finding them?)!
beautiful... I love the rug... and your accessories. Gorgeous. I love the color, but KWYM about it changing in diff. light and not being exactly what you want. It looks so happy and warm in the picture!
I really like the color of the walls and LOVE the rug! Oh, and I am loving your sectional...must get one!
oooh, I LOVE the coloR! And the framed letters are completely fabulous! I'm so excited to be seeing more of your new home - it's coming together beautifully!
I think it looks great. I wish I had even a part of your decorating sense. Andrew and I both have none which is hard on our house!
Looks great! I quite like the wall color, but I know what you mean about it looking different in varying light; I totally have that problem with my yellow kitchen. Love the rug, too! And I agree, hearts are for V-Day only!
Hi Monique- I hope you don't mind I've been squirking on your site for a while now! Your family and home are so cute! It's been fun to see what you've been up to!
So did you end up buying 2 of the Target rugs or what happened with that dilemma? :)
I love the rug...and the framed letters are darling!
I'm still sticking with that color. I love it so desperately.
Congrats on figuring out how to mix PB with Target. Your persistence and hard work are really beginning to come together for a beauty of a home.
Can't wait to see all the progress you've made since last July - just 10 days hence.
