Coming Clean...

So the best way for me to assure success in any venture in my life is to tell EVERYONE what I'm doing so I remain accountable to myself and others. I hate to fail and failing in front of the masses is totally humiliating. So here you go... last night I rejoined Weight Watchers. I'm so ready to shed the baby weight and the excess 15 or so pounds I've carried around since I started having kids.

Since I'm pretty sure we are DONE having babies (and really, I can't even explain what an amazingly great feeling it is to feel complete as a family) I am ready to work my tail off to lose all my weight. I've had success with WW before and even though it is expensive I'm going to keep going to the meetings so I can be accountable. I'm going with a girlfriend so that makes it all the more fun.

In the past I have had a very hard time losing weight while I'm nursing. I tend to lose about 15 lbs. within 6 weeks of quitting. I'm hoping I don't hit that plateau this time since I really, really want to nurse for a year again.

So I'm on this journey and am making it very public. Ugh. But it's really no secret that I'm a little "fluffy" these days. I'll keep you updated on my progress. If anyone else is on the weight loss bandwagon, share your tips and secrets and let's support one another!

Way to go! I'm excited for you!

Please tell me, do you have a solid, good, "I just know we are done feeling"????? I really want to, but can't muster it up!

Good Luck!

Good for you for putting it out there in the open for all to read! Maybe I will do that, too...when I am ready to recommit. I am in that horrible phase where nothing fits (good thing it's not warm yet because NONE of my summer clothes fit anymore) yet I just don't have the intestinal fortitude to start doing anything about it.

Keep us all posted on your success, so we can all be inspired!

Good for you, you can totally do it! I have to put in a plug for FitTV and Sharon Mann, she works me. I also like Denise Austin on Lifetime, but her show is off for a few months I guess. It's just nice to be able to work out at home and it was the only way I lost the last 10 lbs. after having Brooks. JJ

Oh, having babies has taken such a toll on me. I am with you on the 15 pounds - that's about what I'd like to lose. For me, jogging is my secret weapon. If I can get into a regular running routine (currently trying to get back into one), my eating somehow naturally follows suit and I get some results. Good luck! And you're totally done with babies? But that board for your Christmas stockings has 6 hooks... :)

Hooray for Weight Watchers! You already know I have a firm testimony of the program. Steve is still a lifetime member and has kept his weight off for over a year now! My food tip of the week: Sara Lee's Delightful bread. 2 slices= 1 point. We eat it ALL the time.

Good for you! I need to run (jog) to get results. Like Melissa, my diet follows suit when I am avidly excersizing. I am hopping back on that bandwagon now. The last couple of months have taken a toll on me. Good Luck!

Fluffy is a word I use to describe myself! And you know, you're not the only one. I'm checkin' myself back into WW this week. If you've done it before you KNOW how hard it is, but I think starting while nursing is really the best time to start...all those extra points! And amazingly it still works.

I'm proud of you - and admire your candid post. Sometimes "coming clean" is really what it takes to get that extra motivation. You go girl! :)

So maybe I should join WW...I think I am pretty fluffy myself. I am on the fence about another baby but I have got to lose 15 pounds before I can even really entertain the idea. So I am on board. I might sign up online...I couldn't do the meetings unless I had my whole brood in tow. Is that against the rules? LOL

You go girl! I'm always fluffy this time of year. Though I'm hitting it hard before Summer officially arrives... Can't wait to hear your progress, it's so inspiring. :) Wish you lived closer, I would drag you to the gym with me. :)

I am ALWAYS on the bandwagon. I have never tried WW, but I know lots of friends who have had great success with it!

Way to go and good luck! I totally believe that WW can work if you do the program correctly. I lost over 60 lbs after my first baby. (Not all baby-weight, I had lots to loose before the baby). This time around I tried doing it without going to meetings, and have NOT been successful. Having 2 kids has just worn me out more than I had planned, and I just don't seem to have the time/energy to keep up with counting points, and being 'good'. I keep saying I'll go back to meetings "next week" - but it that week comes and goes...

So good for you - and pass on any motivating vibes you have to share!

I'm so very proud of you and excited! Find an excercise routine that you like b/c I know you don't love to exercise! Jon wants to run with me so It would be fun if we all did the 5K or 10K on the fourth in Provo! What do ya think?
