Day 1: See a holiday movie in the theater
Day 2: Watch the First Presidency Christmas Devotional with a treat
We told the kids we would make ANY treat they wanted to eat while watching the devotional. They chose popcorn balls - HUH?!?! But that's what we did - red and green popcorn balls. They thought they were great and especially loved the music in the devotional.
Day 3: Trim the Tree
We decorated our fancy/downstairs tree last week but the kids have been dying to decorate their tree. We finally got around to it tonight for FHE. It turned out really cute with our hodge podge of ornaments. Lots of snowmen ornaments (since I collect them), their personal ornament collections (this year C chose a Spiderman ornament and M chose a hot pink sparkly butterfly - so perfect for each of them), and various ornaments from the places we have traveled to. We're finally almost completely decorated (it seems like it has taken me a long time this year).Watch for lots of fun posts with our DOC traditions!!

This is seriously so cool. I'm going to have to write them all down so I can do this with Charlie when he is older.
Totally and completely love this idea! Definitely might steal it for next year! Have fun - will be fun to see all of your DOC activities! Definitely off to a great start.
What great ideas! You are always so creative and full of great ideas. Do you ever sit still? Have a great Christmas and we can't wait to see your other activities! JJ
Here's my confession: I saw Fred Claus on Friday and loved it. I'm not much for sappy Christmas movies (with the obvious exception of "It's a Wonderful Life") and it's the best one I've seen in a long time. Granted, the pace of the film may be a bit long for Carter and Makenna...it's more a film geared to adults as far as the dialogue goes, but it's not a dirty or crude movie.
You are so creative. Your kids are so lucky. I want to see a picture of your fancy tree. I bet it is gorgeous
Your family is ADORABLE! Love all the fun activities you've planned so far!
Can I take any credit for the genes that helped create such amazingly beautiful children?
Carter and Kenna are certainly cute, charming, and cherished.
Love,
Grandma B
oh, you make me feel guilty that I haven't used my calendar yet....i think it may have to wait until next year. I love your ideas.
Love the DOC idea and the sneak preview picture is darling.
You should definitely post a picture of your "fancy" tree--I'd love to see it!
