in the Hasbro catalog and has been carrying the picture around with him for about 2 weeks. I decided to cave and get it for him either for Christmas or his birthday (which is less than 3 weeks after Christmas). It's sold out, everywhere (though Amazon did allow me to place it on backorder). I am just crossing my fingers that I receive it before his bday! Then there's the dollhouse I purchased for Makenna, along with all the furniture sets, way back in September. The checkout people looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned it was for my daughter for Christmas. Guess what? Sold out long before Thanksgiving.
Finally, I have to mention how much I adore having a LOW maintenance hubby. Al doesn't care about fancy clothes, expensive electronics, video gaming systems or nice cars. Thank goodness. It's not very often when his heart gets set on anything, so when it does, I try my best to accommodate him. So this little beauty found it's way home with us this weekend:

And I must admit, I'm pretty much as smitten with it as he is!! It's been so great to be able to crank our Christmas music throughout our house with just this tiny little device.
Unfortunately, I am completely out of luck for the only other thing on his Christmas list this year. He loves The Far Side page a day desk calendars and they didn't even make one for 2008. Huge bummer. I guess I'll have to find him something else, even though I know he won't enjoy it as much.

Omigoodness - what is it?! Looks like something Harrison would want too - what a relief that we don't get the Hasboro catalog! Fingers crossed that it will be back in stock ASAP!
A dollhouse? What glorious, girly fun! I'm sure that will get high marks on Christmas morning!
yes, I am one of those pathetic people who two years in a row have missed out on doll houses because I didn't buy early enough....
But, I agree, shopping early is the best, and I love being done.
I also have to say -- what the heck is that thing Carter wants? And I feel awful, but it is sooo unexciting to me. I dread ever buying boy toys. Any time I have to shop for a boy, I think of how un-fun it is. I'm wayyy too spoiled with girls. You'll so have to help me one day if I have a boy!
OK, I totally get you on the low-maintenance hubby thing. That is Brian to a "T!" And he too LOVES the Far Side page a day desk calendar, and I often get him one for Christmas! We did not know they didn't even make one for 2008!
Jan - it is the Spider Man Final Battle Playset. Can be found here:

It has great reviews on other sites and has even won best toy award a couple times. So random.
Melissa- I have a feeling our husbands would be really great friends if we lived closer. I have told the story so many times of your visit to Seattle and how we practically had to pry the two of them apart after dinner because they were loving chatting about sports for hours on end.
Kayla - Heh. Boy toys are fun but I think it is hard to shop for them. I think girls are easier because we are girls and remember what we loved as little girls. Ya know? (Believe you me, I am practically counting down the days until I can buy M an EasyBake oven).
holy cow--I love boy toys! I think they are so much fun. My boys would flip over that Spiderman set. And I would flip over that Bose dock. That is a great gift! Brian is super low maintenance too. He asks for 1 pair of socks every year and that is it, LOL
