I'm home today because I'm watching some friends' kids so I'm using the time to get stuff done around here. I had a pile of projects that were "needing" paint.
Here's my before:

And after:

I bought these jars last year at Christmas time and LOVE the red lids but I was wanting to use them year round - so I painted them black. I figure if I want them red again, I'll just repaint them :)
I *might* also have a new love for fleur de lis', but not gaudy gold lame ones:

And I wish I had taken a before picture of this lantern that I got at Target last week (less than $5, originally $35!!!) It was shiny silver and quite cute but definitely did not go with the "look" of my house:
Hmmm... my spray paint projects just might get their own blog tag!
Have a great weekend! It's plant-the-garden weekend around here!

Very cute stuff! My friend just posted about that same lantern, which she also painted black! Too funny. I love your witches treats and goblin goodies jars.
I'll be your enabler- keep those projects coming! I love the labels especially on your jars!
Before and afters are just plain fun to see!
hey, no problem with the excessive spray paint, as long as there's no inhalation! I love a good project -- keep it up!
Fantastic work! And I have an already black lantern that I am SO going to steal your idea and fill up with Fall goodness. So super cute!
Wow!! Your projects are amazing! Love the lantern with the pumpkins...and of course, the candy jars! :o)
Girl you are Biz-Z! Your spray paint idea is golden. Years ago I painted my bed black and Nicole thought I had bought a new set. It's genius. Your 3 mo. food supply inspires me. Good job!
With you, it's always an adventure! A school-teacher gal came to the employment center this week hoping for some advice regarding a career change for herself. She likes event planning, so we put her in touch with someone who does that and then she mentioned that there is a major called "Event Planning." The more I've thought about it, the more I think that that's what you should go into in your post-infant raising life. You'd be great and on your resume you could "quantify your accomplishments" (an employment center term I use in my teaching of the resume class) by mentioning all of the money you "saved" by brandishing that can of black spray paint over household projects both large and small! Your makeover accomplishments are amazing and I love the HGTV-type before and after pix on the blog!
Mom
I am just totally impressed that you were able to get projects done while you were not only watching your own children, but someone else's as well! What amazing multi-tasking skills you have!
I love it all! I always want to put treats out in jars, but I would just eat them all while no one was looking. So, so cute!
I'm with Kara... I always think the treat jars are so cute, but I'd eat them all!!!
Love your projects! So fun & festive!
Way cute! I think I need to get some black spray paint now, lol!
