It's official... I've hit a weight loss plateau. I know I haven't been blogging about the whole weight loss thing lately. It's too depressing. Don't get me wrong... I'm down 55 (fifty five, yes, 55, it feels so good to type that so I'll do it again... 55) pounds since I had Addie in February. I am officially about 5 pounds below my prepregnancy weight. But I think I've only lost about 3 lbs. since school started in August. Is it coincidental that the plateau hit at the same time I started baking again? Probably not. What's a girl to do when she wants her kids to have homemade goodies?
The good news is that I'm working out pretty faithfully. Makenna being in preschool is helping with this immensely as I work out after she leaves and while Addie takes her morning nap. No getting up early (or earlier than my now 6:00 a.m. alarm clock), no more trying to muster up the energy after the kids go to bed and no more trying to do it with the yahoos trying to step on the treadmill or complain that one of my exercise tapes is taking up precious educational cartoon time. I'm going to try to up the ante though and work out for an hour 5 days a week. 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weights. Is that too aggressive for a person who officially hates working out?
I still want to lose another 20 lbs. before Christmas. Keep me accountable, ok? And now I'm off to run for the 2nd time today since I ate In-n-Out for dinner, followed by an icecream cone. That's a sure way to break out of a plateau (ugh).

Okay... I'm volunteering to keep you accountable... if you will keep me accountable, too! I'm a few months behind you and your 55 lb number is SO impressive... thanks for inspiring me!
Fun new header!!! You're so lucky to have a treadmill and weights. I am so impressed that you've lost 55. Seriously, that's awesome. I want to loose 20 by Christmas too. Maybe we could race. I need some help too!
oh stop it! You're beautiful!
Congratulations on that 55! That is so awesome. I have lost 40 since my baby and have 15 more to go . . . I started working out during one of Neal's naps at least 5 days a week just 2 weeks ago, so I'm totally with you on working off those final lbs. I hear it's good to switch up your workout to avoid plateaus, but this is my first baby weight loss attempt, so we'll see! Keep up your awesome work. And good for you for indulging in in-n-out! I wish we had one . . .
Allow me to spread the word about Smokin' Hot Mommas, the fabulous weight loss group my ward started. It's working for a lot of people. Give it a shot if you like, http://shmtotalfitness.blogspot.com.
Wow, that is fantastic! Darn that baking, it gets me too :) Post-baby bodies are so challenging, and you are making a huge effort! I am trying to get on that bandwagon too (Brian's been on for some time). I get motivated every time I go shopping, but haven't been so good on the follow-through. You are giving some good motivation!
WOW! I would never have believed you had 55 to lose.
When I plateau on weight loss, I usually take 4 or 5 days off, and literally eat whatever I want. I may even gain 2 or 3 pounds. Then I hit it really hard again, and I can usually drop about 10 pounds super fast that way. Hang in there! You've come so far already - you can do it.
I'll keep you accountable if you'll do the same for me. After all, us Official Exercise-Haters need to stick together! I went to the gym this a.m. before work, and it felt good after not going all summer long.
Stick with it; 55 lb is a great accomplishment! You'll get that last 20 lb gone, I know it!
Congrats to you! You are awesome! I am with Kristi- did you have 55lbs. to lose? I am waiting for swim suit pictures... ;)
That is super impressive. You should be so proud of yourself. I would like to lose 20 pounds before Christmas too...I have no willpower or stamina left so I will just live vicariously through you, LOL. WTG!!!
That is amazing! And I'd like to know WHERE you are going to come up with another 20 pounds to lose???
Dittoes... where is it coming off? That is so impressive, Monique! I'm proud of you and inspired! WTG!
okay, I HAVE to see you. The last two times I've seen you (in a total of what? two years?) you've looked fab, and you were even PG the last time. Where are you finding all this weight to lose? Sigh...just as I'm putting it all on. I bet you must feel amazing and I can't wait to see you -- seriously.
