I have two fabulous responses that I give to people who comment about my full hands. They both come from seasoned mothers.
The first is from my friend Susie, who has 5 kids. When someone tells her she has her hands full, she replies, "Yep, full of LOVE."
My sister, who also has 5 kids usually responds, "Better full than empty."
Aren't those awesome? I use both responses ALL the time and people are usually surprised to hear my POSITIVE responses to having my hands full. Who wouldn't want their hands full with such precious little ones?
(And that picture is exactly how my kiddos look right this second, unwinding with a movie after a day at school! Love them!)

That picture is priceless!
I can't bring myself to use Susie's line! I just smile, nod, and try to move on before my kids do something to make the person think I'm an unfit mother (cause I get the comments when my kids are good too, strange!).
I love those one liners! I think I may use them...we get that 'hands full/busy' comment around here too, though mostly at church which is probably b/c besides the park, that's the only place I take all three in public by myself :)
I only have two - but my hands are pretty full too ;)
I love these comments and think I'll work on my perspective when I feel like my hands are too full.
Do you remember my post that was EXACTLY like this a year ago??? And those are the same two responses I've come up with. So many people think anything over 2 kids is crazy.
that's cute photo of the kids, just being kids (and thank goodness for the TV I say!)
Those are both awesome responses. I am so going to use one the next time I get told my hands are full. Like you, it happens ALL the time...it's so annoying.
Why do people say that so much? I hear it too! I just feel like saying, "You want one of 'em?"
"Full Hands Mom" here too. I like these responses. I usually just say something like "yeah it's great!" or "we have a lot of fun!" The other comment I get is "Looks like your starting your own basketball team." Nice. My question I think after that one is, if they were all girls instead, I'm sure I wouldn't get that, although girls play basketball too. :)
I just got this comment today. I was at the gym with 3 extra kids minus 2 of mine so I had a total of six. A girl I teach with said my you have your hands full. I gave her the response and told her that not all of them were mine. She couldn't believe that I had five, she said one is enough for me! And that's all she's having! Can you imagine one KID?!? To think that Morgan would be it! Not so fun I say! I wonder what people say to Jenn?
I hear it too. All.the.time. And I have people ask me all the time if my kids are triplets, LOL. Um no. The oldest is 6...the youngest is 2. No triplets there. I am surprised at how much I hear it actually...I see people around here with 6 and 7 kids and their oldest is Skylar's age. That is what I consider full, you know? People are crazy.
How cute! I get that line with just two kids. I think sometimes people are just looking for something to say and don't always think about how what they say might come across!
