Last night Carter read his very first book all by himself!!! We are so proud of him! For the last couple of months he has been sounding out words wherever we go. So last week I finally bought him a set of early readers and we tried it out last night. He sounded out each word and did just great. We didn't help him at all. He was pretty excited. I decided that I want to take it slow so that he doesn't feel pressured. But right after breakfast this morning he went and got the book he read last night and the 2nd book in the series and read them aloud to me. I can't believe he is reading and I'm so happy that he's so excited about it too!

I can't believe he is reading! He is getting so big. I remember reading those small picture books to him in church. Congrats Carter!
As your auntie, I am also mighty proud of you. And I'm offended that BA hasn't complimented *my* children so heartily.
That is fun and exciting. A. is also loving to read -- what a fun age this is!
Wow, Carter is growing up way too fast! You guys are so lucky to have such a great kid!
