These are a few funny things that Carter has said during the last few weeks that I just want to document so I can remember them.
1. A couple weeks ago he came home from church and recounted the story of Joseph Smith having his leg operated on as a young boy. He told the story in shockingly accurate detail. At the end he said, "The doctor had to cut open his leg to get all the performance out." I said, "the performance?" and he replied, "yes, the performance, it was making his leg sick." I think he meant that the doctor had to PERFORM an operation to get the infection out. So funny.
2. Today he was wearing a hat that has the Polo horse on it. He walked into the kitchen studying the front of the hat and asked me if the angel Moroni was on his hat. I told him no and he said, "are you sure? Why is he blowing his horn, if it's not the angel Moroni?" I looked more closely at the hat and sure enough, it does kind of resemble the angel Moroni - the raised polo club looks kind of like his trumpet. Hilarious.
3. Another gem from today was when we were talking about modesty. I told him that I had to keep my sweatshirt zipped up to remain modest. I told him that our bodies are temples and we need to treat them nice. He said, "I'm not a temple mom. I'm a boy!"
4. Finally, we were talking about faith and he said that faith is something that can't be seen. Then he said, "how come faith can more a mountain?" I tried to explain to him the principle of faith in childlike terms. He interrupted me and said, "no mom, I think faith has a really, really big stick and that's how it moves the mountain."
I love it. I love listening to how his little brain processes truths of the gospel.

I agree, the best part of being a parent is watching them gain knowledge!
Looks like Carter will take after Teddy Roosevelt (his trademark proverb: "Speak softly and carry a big stick.") Carter is really, really funny.
And I finished his "Knobs the Pirate" shirt this weekend. Yippee!
The faith-mountain story is so funny. They all are, but that's my fav.
