I took about 275 pictures on the trip so I will narrow it down to just a few along with our trip recap. I must say that it was totally magical to be at Disney as an adult and just enjoy watching our kids experience it for the first time. We also lucked out because Makenna was exactly the right height to go on most of the big rides. It was perfect and we got to ride almost everything in both parks. Carter proved to be a big old daredevil and rode everything and LOVED every minute of the scary/intense rides. Makenna did everything that Carter did but would not go back for a second ride if she got too scared. I was proud of both kids for being willing to try everything.
Another thing I did not anticipate is how much they LOVED meeting the characters. My kids are really really big Pixar movie fans so they weren't too familiar with some of the characters from the older Disney movies (we met Alice and my kids had no clue who she was or why they should care about meeting her). But I think it was a highlight of the trip for them to meet characters. I made these little autograph books before we went, not sure if we would even use them. They were well used!
Tuesday:
Entering the Park

End of Day 1: Tired, dirty, in love with mouse ears and totally happy
Wednesday:
One of the highlights of the trip was our character meal at Goofy's Kitchen. It was pure heaven for the kiddos and totally worth the time/money for the experience. We met Goofy, Pluto, Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Chip & Dale, Captain Hook (who my kids loved). One funny story is that when Cinderella came around, Carter refused to have his picture taken with her or have her sign his book. When she asked him who his favorite character is, he said, "Batman." She was a bit surprised and told him she couldn't help him with that one! Hilarious!

Addie was a dreamboat and slept the entire time we were there!!
We spent the rest of the day at California Adventure. It is a great park and we wish we would have had more time there. Apparently they are slated to add 8 new attractions in the next 5 years so we can't wait to go back!

I am mortified by this picture of myself. I look enormous but it is actually because my clothes are too BIG!! But it is cute of everyone else - F is for Frost Family! That night we hit both the CA (Pixar) and Disney parades!LuLu at the parade:

Thursday: Back to Disneyland
At the Buzz Lightyear ride. I think we rode this 5 times - it was for sure a favorite!!
Can't go to Disney and not meet these guys (even though we kind of had to stalk them to find them but Carter was adamant):

I was kind of afraid that this trip would begin the princess obsession with Makenna but she honestly couldn't have cared less about them. Surprisingly she was smitten with Minnie Mouse. Every souvenir she chose was Minnie related. I'm hoping we can skip right over the Disney princess obsession here!
First Ears:

We watched the parades again that night and they loved them even more the 2nd time around.
It was quite chilly the entire time we were there, which is why we're wearing the same sweatshirts in every picture. It was in the 60s and overcast until Thurs. afternoon when it finally warmed up a bit. It was downright cold to us!
We drove home on Friday morning. It was such a great trip that we are already tentatively planning our next Disney vacation. I can't wait to go back. Next time I'd like to get the 5 day park hopper pass so we can do each of the parks more thoroughly.

I've done the Soarin' ride in Orlando. It is truly the coolest ride EVER! Did they have smells and everything at the CA one?
What a fun trip!!! I'm amazed that C. did splash mtn.! What a brave kid he is!
I have to say that my kids love Mickey and Minnie too! But we still have one very girlie-girl who calls herself "Princess Minnie"!
So glad you had such a great time!
CUTE pictures!!! Omigoodness you got some adorable shots - looks like so much FUN! I can't wait for our Disney trip in December! That was a great idea to make little autograph books!
SKIP the princess phase? Seriously? If I ever have a girl, I'm going to be wearing a tiara and tutu right along with her - lol.
So glad you had a good time, and that Addie was cooperative! I think Rob & I want to go back more than the boys do. Great memories! Sounds like we would have been right at home with the weather. ;-)
What awesome memories. I have been begging Jarren to take us all to Disney. It sounds like it was well worth it for your family.
We went to Disneyland in March over Spring Break (and just a note - do NOT do a trip to Disney over Spring Break - it was INSANE!) Aside from the crowds I loved it. I loved having my little boy get SO excited about every Pixar character, and most of the Disneyland ones too. And Dole Whips - my favorite!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about them again... Oh - and the swinging cars on the ferris wheel - freaked us out too. We didn't realize how much they would swing and Gabe (my 2 year old) fell right off my dad's lap when it took it's first swing - right onto the floor of the cart.
I love Disneyland. So, so much. I think I love it more the older I get. Like, walking into the main square up to the statue of Walt and Mickey is enough to make me choke up a bit.
Great Pics! I'm so glad you guys went! It's really the Happiest Place on Earth! Did you get the guns from the buzz lightyear ride? We did and they are very loud/annoying. But the kids love them!
It looks like you guys had so much fun! Your kids look adorable. I think you may have converted me to the whole Disney land vacation.
Me again---we did a 5-day Park Hopper both times that we've been to Disneyland, and I must say that the next time we go, we will NOT do all 5 days in a row. By that last day we were all dead on our feet and could barely summon up the will to go to the park. I totally second the opinion that you ought NEVER to go during Spring Break (made that mistake last year). Oh, I want to go NOW!
I agree...I think the best part of DL as an adult is definitely seeing it through my kids eyes! I'm glad that Addie was so good for you!! We just went to DL in Feb, and I can't wait to plan another trip...SOON! ;o) Love the pictures too!! Oh, and I think the Ferris Wheel is SO scary and we weren't even in the swinging cars! LOL!
looks like you had a great time. you have me excited to take our kids this year.
I'm sure my girls will be in princess heaven!
and, I DON'T EVER do ferris wheels. I'm impressed you did!
I think we're postponing our trip to Nov/December so we can do a different trip in the fall. But I can't wait all the same.
Looks great! Glad to hear everyone - including baby Addie - had a great trip! My kids would have swooned over Captain Hook.
So fun to see all your adventures! Disneyland is magical. :) We've never taken the kids. We've thought they might be too young still. Now my wheels are turning..
FUN! Loved reading your post, I felt like I was there! Soarin' is definetely the best. I'm glad you all had such a great time. You took some cute pics too. Thanks for the recap!
Oh gosh...I went on the Ferris Wheel and have never been so scared in my entire life. I am still mortified that I took my precious kids on such a horrid ride. Seriously. I love Disney...your pictures are great. What new camera did you get? We took Piper when she was Addison's age and she did great too. I think Disney just brings out the best in everyone!
It looks like you guys had a great time! Love the photos, the kids' expressions are priceless.
Your autograph books are too cute. I'm so glad our trip was so fun... Carter sounds very brave!! Loved the photos!
