Can we have a new week please?!?

Initially today was going pretty smoothly. I was feeling resonably better although I am having a hard time getting the dehydration under control. I had just returned from dropping Carter off at school and Makenna was down for a nap. Al called in a panic because the school had been trying to get in touch with me because-- get this-- Carter had fallen on the playground, hit his head and needed to be picked up to get stitches!!! Soo.... I woke up Makenna and headed over to the school. His head had a small cut but it was quite deep. The school nurse was unsure if he would need stitches so I took him over to the Pediatrician's office to have them look at it. Sure enough, he needed stitches. We headed over to the pediatric ER, where Al met us, and poor Carter had to get 2 stitches in his forehead. Even though it was only 2 stitches is was still incredibly traumatic for him (can't say that I blame him, a needle in the forehead is never fun). He was such a brave boy though and came through like a trooper. We were hoping they could use the surgical glue but apparently the cut was too deep. So $165 ($150 ER copay plus my normal copay to see the Ped.) later we have two stitches in the head.

Here he is before bed tonight. Sporting the Scooby Doo bandaid (he was highly offended that there were no superhero bandaids available)

The stitches that you can't really see.

The silver lining is that my darling friend Becky (yes, fellow scrappers the Becky) heard that I had been sick and offered to bring us dinner tonight before any of this happened. I called her to let her know our change of plans and she drove half way across Phoenix to bring us dinner at the hospital, from one of our favorite restaurants nonetheless. I don't know how I'd survive without good friends. Thank you, thank you Becky!!

Needless to say, we are all ready for a NEW week!!

How many stiches has Carter had so far? Poor kid keeps hitting his head on things (remember when my DH had to help you out while your hubby was out of town?). Hope he is recovering well & that life will get back to normal soon.

OUCH! I agree, that is traumatic. For both of you! He looks like quite the trooper in those pictures though! I hope you all have an uneventful weekend - big hugs!

I'm so sorry! I hope this weekend and next week are better. What a nice friend too. I wish I were more thoughtful like that.

oh, poor guy! (and POOR YOU!) Scars are manly on boys though, right?? Rugged good looks and all that!

Hope YOU are feeling tip top soon. And, such a blessing to have sweet friends who go out of their way.

Oh no! Sounds like a new week is definitely in order. Maybe some good family snuggle/rest time will set things in order for a better week ahead!

I am so sorry for the trip to the ER. You deserve such wonderful and great friends, because you are that type of friend to so many of us. Have a great new week.

Yikes Monique! I hope the new week starts off better for you guys. Boys are so rough and tumble, but scars give character eh? Thank goodness for good friends, they are the best. Hang in there and I hope everyone is feeling better and ready to start fresh this week- no more owies or sickies.
