On Monday night I started to feel kind of sick. I took some Tylenol and went to bed. I got up on Tuesday morning and started my normal routine and about half way through realized that I really WAS sick. I called Al at about 10:00 a.m. and begged him to come home. He got home around noon and I went straight to bed. I had a fever and chills and a horrible, horrible stomach flu. I literally did not get out of bed once until 2:00 p.m. yesterday (except for the obvious). At which point I weighed myself and realized I had lost almost 10 pounds in less than 48 hours. I hadn't been able to keep one ounce of fluid in me for a day and a half. I quickly called my OB and he instructed me to get straight to Labor and Delivery at the hospital. So Al took me to the hospital where they found that I was severely dehydrated and had both a bladder and UT infection. I was there for about 3 hours and proceeded to get 4 bags of high calorie IV fluid plus a bag of antibiotics and two doses of Zofran anti nausea medication (Zofran is so my new best friend).
My fever finally broke last night and I am starting to feel somewhat normal again. In the last 3 days I have eaten a tiny bag of pretzels, about 3 saltine crackers and some cheerios. I still have no appetite but at least I can keep fluid down. Al is finally back at work today. He did a great job of holding down the fort down the past couple of days (in fact, he did so many fun things with the kids, they're going to hope I get sick more often). I don't remember ever really being as sick as I was this week. Gratefully I am on the mend and things with the baby are fine!

Oh no! Monique - how awful for you! Big hugs! I'm so glad you are starting to feel better and that Miss Bebe is a-okay.
how scary!!! I guess pregnancy is not the best time to lose 10 pounds...but I'd take it ;0). Just kidding (really, I do NOT want to get that sick ever). I am glad you are feeling better. Did you get another peek at your little princess? And does she have a name yet?
I am so sorry you have been sick. Having had the EXACT same thing happen to me when I was pregnant with Charlie, I know how that is. There is nothing worse than being pregnant and puking.
That sounds scary, I'm glad that you and baby are fine.
Thank goodness for husbands! That was a terrible story and I'm so glad you are on the mend. Please DON'T let that happen again! And get a flu shot just in case!
What a scare! I've had something similar while I was pregnant - it is pure misery. I am so glad to hear you are on the mend. Yay for helping husbands!
I know someone already said this, but "Oh,No!" That is soooo not fun, especially when your pregnant. Take it easy, or you just might have the baby before 42 weeks (isn't that when C. came finally?!
I am so sorry about being sick. When I was pregnant a friend reminded me that in the scriptures it says often, "and this shall come to pass." I thought that was funny. Thankfully being sick and pregnant don't last forever. It might feel like it but they do pass. I am so glad you are feeling better.
Wow. What a crazy time. I'm glad you're feeling better and that the baby is okay.
I'm so glad you're feeling better. Al told me you were under the weather, but I didn't know it was that bad. Love lovitty love.
I'm glad that you are feeling better. How scary! Glad you and little baby girl are ok.
As if JUST being pregnant isn't enough...
That's AWFUL! I went down that road with Eva. IV's and dehydration during pregnancy - VERY BAD. We're so glad you're ok now!!!!!
I just read your blog -- i'm so sorry i haven't called or read this, i've been out of town! i'm so calling you tomorrow!
