A fun post

Hilary had this on her blog a couple weeks ago and I decided I want to do it too:

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

I was about half way through my mission in Minneapolis. I was serving in the singles ward at the University of Minnesota with Sister Ridenour (one of the funniest people I've ever known). I was loving that school was back in session because we had been OYMing the same people ALL summer. That was one of the best wards I served in on my mission. Tons of people to teach - the young singles were so great at fellowshipping and we had a lot of success. In fact, I taught Lori while serving in that ward and she was baptized and married the ward mission leader. I also met Melissa while serving in that ward but we became friends later while we were both living in Colorado.

2. What was I doing 5 years ago?

We had been living in Connecticut for about 4 months and were in the process of looking for our first home. I was almost 7 months pregnant with Carter and falling in love with fall in New England. I was doing project management for Citigroup and they begged me to stay on after the baby was born but I was adamant about becoming a stay at home mom.

3. What was I doing 1 year ago?

I still cannot believe that 1 year ago we were living in Seattle STILL waiting for our house to close in Connecticut (we closed on Oct. 18). It was a super stressful time for us and one we still can't really talk about very much. I was loving having Allen through with graduate school and we were planning lots of fun family activities for the 1 year we knew we would be in the PNW. I loved living near my sister for that year and my kids became really attached to their cousins. Carter had just started preschool and Makenna had only been walking for about a month.

4. What was I doing yesterday?
Totally low key day for us. I ran some errands - Target for more plastic kids hangers, a bday gift and storage bins - Costco for lunch and a few groceries plus Halloween candy. Took Carter to school and tried to get Makenna to nap for about 2 hours. Got some stuff ready for ebay, played for awhile at the park, had leftovers for dinner, took a nap while Al bathed and put the kids to bed (XOXOXO to him for that), painted into the wee hours of the morning trying to finish the girls' room.

5. 6 places I would rather be?
In bed
Hanging out with my mom and sisters on a girls weekend
On a romantic weekend getaway with Al
At the end of my pregnancy
At Disneyland with my kids
On a massage table

6. 5 treats I love
Diet Coke (currently the caffeine free variety) w/ lemon
Chocolate chip cookies
Pumpkin anything
Twix candy bars
Swedish Fish

7. What would I do with a million dollars?
Make a big donation to the church for various things - love the perpetual education fund
Book the Mediterranean cruise we are eyeing for our 10 year anniversary
Finish buying all the furniture I want for the house
Hire professional painters
Save/Invest the rest

8. 5 favorite TV Shows?
Lost, Heroes, Glenn Beck (is it weird that my so called celebrity crush is a talk show host?), What not to Wear, Grey's Anatomy (sometimes)

9. Most memorable things right now?
Enjoying what will probably be our last pregnancy. Loving feeling her move around a ton and watching the kids get so excited now that they can feel her too. Watching my house slowly coming together and just enjoying the process without becoming too overwhelmed and impatient. Reconnecting with old friends, largely through blogging. Love watching Al really grow and succeed in his career, even though it means long hours and lots of work for him (he loves every single stinking minute of it too). Cooler temperatures finally. Watching my kids love on each other and become better friends every day!

Play along if you feel so inclined :)

Way too fun!!! I love your last answers about $ and TV, I think I would answer much the same. I'm really into Glenn Beck at the moment too!!! It doesn't hurt that we live in the same state and have the same faith. Maybe I'll try this, might not be as interesting as yours!

I can't believe it was 10 years ago that we first met! Seems like a lifetime ago. But then, I've been in Denver for 8 years, so that means it was 7 years ago we spent the summer hanging out and watching the "Mormom girl" on the Real World!

Fun! I have so many questions though! What color are you painting the girls room? Pink? Will they room together right away or not until bebe is older? What names are on your list? I am dying to hear names!!! And I might have to pick your brain about the Mediterranean cruise sometime down the road too, Jonathan really wants to do that!

Dave, of all people, got me to start watching GB. I find him so interesting/funny...especially when he talks about Britney Spears. Fun facts to read about you- I think I'll have to steal this idea, too.

What a fun post. I also love the one about your kids. I might have to copy that idea. Glen Beck came to Columbus for his live show. It was the best show ever. He had is laughing our heads off the whole time. It was nothing like his T.V. show. He mostly shared a bunch of stories. I highly recommend it. You are so super cute.
